Sagaing is the absolute highlight of my holiday in Myanmar. Sagaing became the new capital of the Bamar people after Bagan was deserted, so they made a fresh start. I immediately understood that Bagan must have looked like this, but then on a much larger scale. Sagaing consists of a stretched hill and surrounding landscape and is litterally dotted with pagoda's and temples. Many roads wind up and down the hill and with every twist or turn another amazing view enrolls before your eyes. The temples I visited were just the major ones, this area deserves to bevisited at least one full day and not just the two hours I took.
