Though these two temples are not located close together, they share their small size and wall paintings inside.Upali Thein was built in the 13th centurey by a monk, Upali, and already had its first renovation at 1794.Nanpaya may look like a prison - it might have been so to keep king Manuha. It is built in the 11th century as one of the first cave-like temples. The stone carved arches above the windows are very beautiful.
