Brussels

capital of Europe

Brussels' landmark is the Atomium, a model of a crystal of the element iron (Fe). Located in the Heizel park, it is a fascinating and original building characteristic for the faith in technolgy at the time (1956).

Accesibility to the top sphere is by a lightning-fast elevator, allowing a nice aereal view at the park.

Brussels is famous for Manneke Pis...

...and for its central square...

...and for its chocolates...

A wonderful expierience is to be had at the Jubelpark, commemorating the independence of Belgium (from the Netherlands) in 1930. The state of Belgium proved to be viable and soon surpassed the Netherlands in economic prosperitty, progressive use of technology, and colonial entrepeneurship. A costly but worthy monument. However, inhabitants of Belgium Congo will strongly disagree with this.
